You may have noticed that your iPad has been acting a bit strange lately.
App applications shutting down suddenly, network connectivity issues, or even strange bugs can quickly become frustrating. But before panicking, have you considered resetting your iPad? Let's find out if this solution can help you regain peace of mind.
How to Reset an iPad
Resetting an iPad can be a simple solution to many common problems. To do so, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Reset. Be careful not to accidentally tap "Erase All Content and Settings," as this will delete everything from your device. However, a confirmation will be requested.
By clicking on Reset, you'll have several options: Reset All Settings, Reset Network Settings, Reset Keyboard Dictionary, Reset Home Screen Layout, Reset Location & Privacy.
Reset All Settings
will return your iPad to its default settings. This includes network settings, keyboard dictionary, location settings, privacy settings, and Apple Pay cards. However, it will not delete any data.
Reset Network Settings
will only remove your network settings. It will rename your iPad to "iPad" and trusted website certificates will be changed to untrusted. It will also disable cellular data.
Reset Keyboard Dictionary
will delete all the words you've added to your iPad. Have you ever rejected a keyboard suggestion while typing on your iPad? Every time you do so, you add a new word to your device’s keyboard dictionary. Resetting this setting will erase all those words.
Reset Home Screen Layout
will restore your home screen to its original state. All apps will return to their default positions.
Finally, Reset Location & Privacy
will revert all changes made to your device's location services and privacy settings to their default state.
Resetting your iPad can be a useful step if you're experiencing persistent issues. However, be sure to back up your important data before proceeding with the reset. If you're unsure of the best option for your specific situation, it may be wise to contact Apple Support for additional assistance. Ultimately, it's essential to find the solution that works best for you and to regain a smooth, stress-free iPad experience.
