The new features of Find My Device
- Locate offline devices
With the new Find My Device, you can easily locate your compatible Android phone and tablet by making them ring or viewing their location on a map within the app, even if they are offline. Pixel 8 and 8 Pro owners will also benefit from the ability to find their devices even if they are turned off or out of battery.
Features:
- Offline location
- Ability to locate even when the device is turned off
- Tracking everyday objects with Bluetooth tags
Starting in May, you will be able to locate everyday objects like your keys, wallet, or luggage with Bluetooth tracking tags from Chipolo and Pebblebee in the Find My Device app.
These tags, specially designed for the Find My Device network, will be compatible with unknown tracking alerts on Android and iOS to protect you against unwanted tracking.
Features:
- Tracking everyday objects
- Compatibility with unknown tracking alerts
- Find nearby objects
Sometimes, what we’re looking for is right under our nose.
If you are near your lost device but need a little help finding it, a "Find Nearby" button will appear to help you locate exactly where it is hiding. You can also use this feature to find everyday objects like your wallet or keys when Bluetooth tags are available in May.
Features:
- Locating nearby objects
- Assistance for precise location
- Locate devices at home with Nest
We often lose everyday objects like our keys or phone right at home.
The Find My Device app now displays the proximity of a lost device with your Nest devices at home, giving you an easy reference point.
Features:
- Integration with Nest devices
- Precise location of devices at home
- Share accessories with friends and family
Share an accessory so everyone can keep an eye on it in the app.
For example, share your house keys with your roommate, the TV remote with a friend, or your luggage with a travel companion so you can easily act together if something goes missing.
Features:
- Sharing accessories
- Collaborative monitoring
