In Orivelle, anyone can deposit an hour of their future in a public clock to lend it to someone else. Borrowed time allows care, learning or repairs, never travel into the past. When deadlines disappear from the archives, clerks, borrowers and clockmakers must recover forgotten promises before one generation bears their entire cost.

Clockmaker's Alcove

Nestled within the Waiting Glass Reserve, the Clockmaker's Alcove is a small workshop dedicated to the meticulous crafting, repairing, and calibrating of time vessels. The walls are adorned with shelves laden with intricate clockwork tools and half-finished projects, casting a cluttered yet inviting atmosphere. A large workbench made of polished mahogany occupies the center, its surface strewn with cogs, springs, and blueprints of various time mechanisms. Soft blue evening light filters through a circular window, illuminating the dust motes that dance in the air, enhancing the serene focus of this space. Occasionally, the rhythmic ticking of clocks can be heard, providing a soundtrack to the artisans at work who ensure that every hour loaned is recorded and maintained with utmost precision.
