Flavor Reservoir
The Flavor Reservoir is a strikingly ornate chamber located inside the Composed Seasons Granary. It features high arching ceilings supported by rustic wooden beams with intricate carvings depicting various fruits, grains, and herbs, symbolizing the bounty of Velmora. The floor is submerged in shallow, clear water, which holds vibrant aquatic plants that naturally filter and infuse the air with aromatic scents from the spices and herbs diffused from the nearby storage bins. Shelving units made from reclaimed wood line the walls, filled with jars of preserved ingredients, each labeled with weather conditions ideal for their growth. A series of brass sculptures shaped like clouds and rain droplets hang from the ceiling, subtly glimmering in light as they catch the reflections from the water below, creating a serene and inviting environment where chefs and apprentices gather to collaborate on new recipes inspired by the weather.
History
Constructed as an enhancement of the original storehouse, the Flavor Reservoir was designed to utilize water's natural aromatic properties to inspire culinary creations. Over the years, it has become a cherished communal spot for local chefs and apprentices, fostering creativity and collaboration. Careful maintenance and frequent additions of new herb varieties have grown the reservoir into a treasured local feature, reflecting not only the community’s connection to the land but also its innovative spirit.
