About this world

In Talverine, roads remain open while a shared story is performed at both ends. Actors cannot control an audience’s thoughts or feelings: they must persuade. A tour connects towns with conflicting memories, while stagehands, writers and performers decide whose voices will finally reach the stage.

The Harmonious Altar

At the intersection of Two Stories Road, the Harmonious Altar stands as an open-air gathering space that celebrates the stories and cultures of the towns it connects. Constructed from intricately carved wooden posts and vibrant fabric canopies, this circular platform provides a stage for spontaneous performances and community events. A central fire pit, surrounded by an arrangement of low benches, encourages storytelling and sharing of memories as twilight falls. The atmosphere is imbued with a sense of unity, creating a space where differing narratives intertwine and resonate. The backdrop features an array of colorful murals that depict the legends and historical moments of the neighbouring towns, inviting passersby to pause and reflect on the shared experiences that bind them together.

The Whispering Grove

Nestled along the edges of Two Stories Road, The Whispering Grove is a tranquil area filled with towering trees whose high branches sway gently in the breeze, creating a soft rustle reminiscent of whispered secrets. The ground is dotted with smooth stones and patches of soft moss, inviting travelers to take a moment to sit on naturally formed benches encircled by greenery. In the centre, under the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, a circular stone platform serves as a surprise stage for impromptu performances, where every spoken word is amplified by the natural acoustics of the space. Lanterns hang from the branches above, their soft glow flickering like fireflies at dusk, lending an air of intimacy for those sharing stories or songs. This peaceful enclave provides a refuge from the bustle of the road, reinforcing the bonds between those who pause to listen and share.
