Travelling companies mend the ties between towns that no longer speak.

In Talverine, roads remain open while a shared story is performed at both ends. Actors cannot control an audience’s thoughts or feelings: they must persuade. A tour connects towns with conflicting memories, while stagehands, writers and performers decide whose voices will finally reach the stage.

The Curved Stage

Nestled within the embrace of Two Stories Road, the Curved Stage is a semi-enclosed performance space crafted from weathered wooden beams and vibrant canvas drapery. The stage features a concave design that amplifies sound and provides an intimate atmosphere for performers and viewers alike. The area is surrounded by small, circular seating arrangements made from reclaimed wood, allowing audiences to gather closely, fostering community connection as stories unfold. Twinkling lanterns dangle from above, casting warm, inviting light as twilight descends, enhancing the enchantment of the performances that take place here.

History

The Curved Stage was established a decade ago, originating from a local initiative aimed at beautifying Two Stories Road and creating a communal space for performances. It quickly became a beloved venue for travelling companies, solidifying its reputation as a cultural hub for stories shared among towns. Regular maintenance from the community ensures it remains a vibrant part of their storytelling tradition, with each performance echoing the varied memories of the surrounding towns.
