The Wishing Well Stage
Nestled in the far corner of the Shared Prologue House, the Wishing Well Stage is a small, circular platform surrounded by hand-painted backdrops that depict vibrant landscapes and abstract scenes, inviting performers to transform the space for every new story told. The stage is set about a foot above the ground, allowing an intimate experience for seated spectators gathered on the soft, padded benches that wrap around its perimeter. Above, lanterns constructed from light wood cast soft lighting, enhancing the atmosphere of creativity and communal imagination. The platform itself is made from reclaimed wood, showing the wear and tear of countless performances, its edges adorned with intricate carved symbols representing the dreams of the towns' residents. Inviting exploration and spontaneous performances, the Wishing Well Stage embodies the spirit of desire and hope, while functionally serving as a rehearsal area during the day, encouraging local talent to share their narratives. It stands as both a literal and metaphorical wishing well, a place where dreams are nurtured through the art of storytelling.
History
The Wishing Well Stage was established shortly after the Shared Prologue House opened, born from a community desire to have a dedicated space for storytelling. Over the years, it has seen numerous local performers rise to fame, with each telling adding layers to its history. Community members contributed to its upkeep, ensuring the stage remained vibrant and full of life. With every new coat of paint and refurbished lantern, the stage has become a cherished icon of local artistic expression.
