About this world

In Talverine, roads remain open while a shared story is performed at both ends. Actors cannot control an audience’s thoughts or feelings: they must persuade. A tour connects towns with conflicting memories, while stagehands, writers and performers decide whose voices will finally reach the stage.

The Suspension Gallery

The Suspension Gallery is a unique space within the Folded Horizon Depot, designed for the display and creative manipulation of backdrops. The gallery extends horizontally along the depot's upper level, with wooden beams suspended from the ceiling, allowing various painted canvases to hang freely at different heights. Each backdrop is meticulously arranged, casting playful shadows on the walls below. Performers and stagehands often visit this space for inspiration, exchanging ideas under hanging lanterns that produce a soft, warm light, illuminating the vibrant colors of the canvases. A wide walkway allows for easy access to each piece, while small platforms provide opportunities to adjust and view the backdrops from different angles, creating a whimsical and vibrant atmosphere that celebrates creativity and collaboration.

The Fabrication Nook

The Fabrication Nook is a cozy area within the Folded Horizon Depot dedicated to the creation and repair of costumes and props. The space is a bustling workshop filled with the sound of sewing machines, the scent of wood shavings, and the clinking of tools. Walls lined with shelves house numerous fabrics, paints, and crafting materials, organized in vibrant colors that inspire creativity. Large, well-lit worktables serve as the main workspace, cluttered with half-finished costumes and props under the watchful gaze of lanterns that cast a warm glow across the room. A chalkboard displays sketches and design notes, while a selection of mirrors allows for fitting adjustments. The atmosphere is lively and filled with laughter, as artisans collaborate on new creations, sharing tips and techniques with each other, forging bonds as they contribute to the performances that bring their community together.
