A ravaged world rebuilt from the ruins of civilization, one day at a time.

The Shattered Horizon is the world after the Fall — a patchwork of irradiated badlands, flooded coastal ruins, and fortified survivor settlements clinging to existence. Nobody alive remembers the Before; they only know the After. Water is currency. Diesel is religion. Factions — the Ironclad Compact, the Verdant Covenant, the Reapers of the Hollow — war over resources and ideology in equal measure. Mutated wildlife stalks the open wastelands, and ancient pre-Fall military bunkers still hold terrible secrets worth dying for. Characters are scavengers, medics, warlords, wandering traders, and reluctant heroes who discover that rebuilding the world is harder than surviving it. Hope is the most dangerous commodity of all.

Ready-to-play adventures

The Wreck of the Starfire

The Wreck of the Starfire is an immense, partially submerged cargo vessel that serves as a makeshift marketplace and gathering point for scavengers in Sunken Downtown. Towering above the murky waters, its rusty hull is encrusted with barnacles and adorned with climbing vines, creating a striking contrast between the ship's former glory and its current state of decay. Inside, the ship has been repurposed into various stalls and trading posts, where scavengers trade salvaged goods, supplies, and information under the faded colors of the ship's original branding. The atmosphere aboard the Wreck is bustling yet chaotic, infused with the sounds of bartering voices and the creaking of metal as the vessel sways with the tide. Scavengers skillfully navigate its slippery decks as they browse through an eclectic array of items: from rusted tools and drenched textiles to rare pre-Fall relics that spark curiosity and nostalgia. Lanterns fashioned from scavenged materials hang from improvised structures, casting flickering shadows that dance across the ship's interior. The scent of brine, damp metal, and burnt oil permeates the air, mingling with the faint aroma of cooked food from makeshift kitchens set up on the second level.

History

The Starfire was once a colossal cargo ship, part of a thriving trade fleet before the Fall. During the disasters that submerged the coastal city, it was trapped in rising waters, finally coming to rest at an angle against a nearby building. Initially left to rot, the wreck became a refuge for those brave enough to scavenge its contents. Over time, enterprising survivors transformed the ship into a bustling market hub where goods could be exchanged, bringing much-needed supplies into a community besieged by scarcity. The Wreck of the Starfire stands as testament to the resilience of those who call Sunken Downtown home, providing a place of gathering, trade, and echoes of a world that once was.
