In Orivelle, anyone can deposit an hour of their future in a public clock to lend it to someone else. Borrowed time allows care, learning or repairs, never travel into the past. When deadlines disappear from the archives, clerks, borrowers and clockmakers must recover forgotten promises before one generation bears their entire cost.

Soft, ripple-patterned curtains divide the alcoves, providing privacy for individuals seeking solace. Each alcove is equipped with a comfortable reclining chair upholstered in deep lavender fabric, facing a translucent wall adorned with gently moving images of flowing sands and clock gears—symbols of time's passage. Pockets of soft, ambient blue light illuminate the space, evoking the twilight hours beloved by the citizens of Orivelle. The sanctuary is designed to encourage quiet contemplation, allowing individuals to ponder their Borrowed Hours and the implications of time lent and borrowed. The Archive of Echoes

The Archive of Echoes is a central gathering space filled with wooden shelves that spiral upwards, lined with time-stamped journals and scrolls chronicling the lives and stories of Orivelle's citizens. Above, a domed glass ceiling casts intricate patterns of light onto the polished stone floor, where community members frequently convene to share experiences and look back on their memories. Softly illuminated reading nooks nestled between tall bookshelves feature comfortable seating, creating intimate spots for reflection or quiet discussion. Ethereal soundscapes, reminiscent of distant clock chimes, gently fill the air, echoing the importance of memory and time.
