In Orivelle, anyone can deposit an hour of their future in a public clock to lend it to someone else. Borrowed time allows care, learning or repairs, never travel into the past. When deadlines disappear from the archives, clerks, borrowers and clockmakers must recover forgotten promises before one generation bears their entire cost.

Echo Chamber

The Echo Chamber is a unique, circular pod situated within the Patient Gear Workshop. Its walls are made of polished stone, reflecting an iridescent glow that shifts subtly with the time of day. Inside, the chamber is lined with soft, acoustic panels that absorb sound, creating a tranquil atmosphere where artisans can step away from the clamor of gears and tools. At the center lies a raised dais, crafted from a single piece of smooth wood, which serves as both a place to sit and a platform for individuals to share or listen to stories about their experiences with time lending. The soft blue light filtering through small, frost-covered windows adds a serene quality, inviting introspection and connection. The design echoes motifs of cycles and continuity prevalent throughout Orivelle, adorned with delicate carvings that illustrate the passage of time through nature's rhythms. The air is filled with a subtle scent of cedar, enhancing the feeling of calm and contemplation.
