In Orivelle, anyone can deposit an hour of their future in a public clock to lend it to someone else. Borrowed time allows care, learning or repairs, never travel into the past. When deadlines disappear from the archives, clerks, borrowers and clockmakers must recover forgotten promises before one generation bears their entire cost.

Clockmaker's Rest

Clockmaker's Rest is a distinct nook nestled within the Patient Gear Workshop, designed for relaxation and contemplation. Featuring a series of comfortable, cushioned seats arranged around a low, circular table, this area invites artisans and visitors alike to take a moment away from their work. The walls are adorned with a mosaic of varying clock faces, representing the myriad ways time can be perceived, enhanced by a warm, glowing ambiance that reflects off the polished wooden surfaces. Gentle gear mechanisms whisper softly in the background, creating a harmonious atmosphere conducive to reflection. Potted plants with delicate, time-themed flowers are scattered to add a touch of nature and tranquility to the space, promoting a sense of peace in the bustling workshop.

History

Clockmaker's Rest was established as a response to the increasing demands placed on clockmakers and repairers, offering them a physical space to recharge and share ideas. Over time, it has become a cherished sanctuary where local craftsmen gather, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose in the delicate art of timekeeping.
