In Orivelle, anyone can deposit an hour of their future in a public clock to lend it to someone else. Borrowed time allows care, learning or repairs, never travel into the past. When deadlines disappear from the archives, clerks, borrowers and clockmakers must recover forgotten promises before one generation bears their entire cost.

Temporal Reflection Pool

The Temporal Reflection Pool is a tranquil space within the Deposited Futures Counter, designed for quiet contemplation. This landmark features a shallow, circular pool of water bordered by smooth, polished stones. Above it, a dome of glass allows the evening light to filter through, casting intricate patterns on the water's surface. The atmosphere is serene and introspective, complemented by gentle sounds of water cascading into the pool from a small waterfall. Surrounding the pool are cushioned benches made from a mix of wood and soft fabric, inviting visitors to sit, reflect, and meditate on the nature of time and their borrowed futures. A few illuminated orbs float gently above the pool, representing moments of time, fading in and out of soft hues that shift with the passing light.

Chronological Artistry Gallery

The Chronological Artistry Gallery is a unique exhibition space located within the Deposited Futures Counter, dedicated to showcasing artistic interpretations of time. The gallery features high ceilings adorned with intricate wooden beams, reminiscent of the architectural motifs found in the rest of the facility. The walls are lined with frames showcasing artworks that visually explore themes of temporality, such as suspended moments and ephemeral experiences, each paired with a small hourglass that displays the duration of time the artist spent conceptualizing their piece. Ambient lighting enhances the ethereal quality of the artworks, casting gentle shadows that shift throughout the day. Visitors can wander through the gallery, pause to reflect at comfortable seating areas made from polished wood and soft fabric, while smaller display stands provide information about each piece and its corresponding hourglass.
