Oxygen Exchange Chamber
The Oxygen Exchange Chamber is a vital component of the Reference Reef Nursery, where the atmospheric balance of the underwater city is carefully monitored. The chamber is a large, transparent sphere made of reinforced glass, elegantly suspended within a network of branching coral structures. Inside, researchers conduct experiments with various algae samples that are crucial for oxygen replenishment. The chamber features multiple workstations and observation areas allowing visitors to watch as scientists measure oxygen levels, flow rates, and the overall health of the algae. Bioluminescent conduits run along the walls, providing ambient lighting while also serving as indicators of water quality. Soft currents flow gently within the chamber, creating a serene atmosphere conducive to collaborative research.
History
Established soon after the founding of the Reference Reef Nursery, the Oxygen Exchange Chamber was designed to address the critical needs of sustaining breathable air for Nerivane's residents. Over the years, the chamber has seen innovations in algae cultivation techniques and atmospheric regulation, reflecting the community's ongoing commitment to preserving the delicate balance of their underwater ecosystem.
