About this world

Mirelium’s tiny inhabitants build beneath the veins of a living garden. A turning leaf changes their roads, and watering can move a border. When an unfamiliar plant alters the flow of dew, botanists, ferrymen and delegates must protect their cities without destroying the insects and roots that sustain them.

The Luminescent Arbor

The Luminescent Arbor is a unique interior nook nestled within the Knotted Fibre Workshop, designed specifically for quiet reflection and inspiration. This space is defined by a wall of translucent bark panels that diffuse natural light, casting a warm and inviting glow. The air is scented with earthy notes from the surrounding plant materials, and the gentle hum of soft rainwater trickling through woven drainage channels creates a serene atmosphere. Several low, asymmetric seating arrangements fashioned from twisted roots encircle a central, pool-like depression filled with luminous moss and bioluminescent fungi, each radiating a soft, ethereal light. The decor features intricate motifs—plants intertwined with knots symbolizing growth and resilience—carved into the furniture and flooring, which is made up of varied plant fibers that cushion the feet.

The Seedling Gallery

The Seedling Gallery is a serene alcove within the Knotted Fibre Workshop dedicated to showcasing the artistry of miniature botanists. This intimate space features shelves hewn from intertwining roots, displaying an array of meticulously arranged plant specimens, from delicate blossoms to intricate leaf patterns, each labeled with colorful, handwoven tags. Overhead, a transparent canopy of leaf fragments allows dappled light to filter through, illuminating the gallery with a soft, greenish hue, fostering a reverent atmosphere for appreciation and learning. Visitors can explore thin, winding paths lined with moss carpets that cushion footsteps, and small bioluminescent fungi set in the ground guide the way. At one end of the gallery, a vibrant mural—depicted in natural dyes on woven bark—illustrates the lifecycle of local flora, forming both an artistic centerpiece and an educational tool for inhabitants and visitors alike.
