The Reflection Pond
Nestled in a serene corner of Everday University, the Reflection Pond serves as a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling campus life. This rectangular water body, approximately 50 feet long and 30 feet wide, is surrounded by a cobblestone pathway that invites students to take a leisurely stroll or sit on the low stone benches dotting the perimeter. Lush greenery, consisting of native shrubs and flowering plants, frames the pond, providing seasonal color and attracting local wildlife. At the center of the pond, a small fountain gently spouts water, creating a soothing sound that encourages relaxation and reflection. During warmer months, students gather here to study, share stories, or simply take a break from their rigorous schedules, while in colder seasons, the scene transforms with the changing foliage, offering a picturesque view for passersby.
History
Established in 1995 as part of an initiative to enhance the campus's natural beauty, the Reflection Pond has become a cherished spot for both students and faculty. Originally envisioned as a simple water feature, it quickly morphed into an integral part of campus culture through various art installations and events held around it, such as poetry readings and open-mic nights. Over the years, the pond has not only provided a peaceful retreat for contemplation but has also symbolized the unity and collective growth of the university community, with each graduating class often returning to the pond to reminisce and reflect on their past experiences.
