Elmere’s islands are linked by causeways usable when their resonators align. Each community has a different musical grammar, and no melody can compel consent. When a new interval shakes the foundations, interpreters, instrument makers and crossing keepers learn to compose without erasing silence or difference.

Echo Chamber

The Echo Chamber is a circular, dome-shaped room situated within the Measured Interval Station, designed to facilitate the exploration of sound frequencies and musical harmonies. Its walls are crafted from polished lavender stone, known for its acoustic properties, which resonates with the slightest sound. The room is lined with ceramic resonators embedded into the walls, each tuned to a different frequency, creating a symphony of echoes when sound travels through. The chamber's floor is a smooth, reflective surface, enhancing the auditory experience and allowing even faint whispers to bounce around the space, creating a unique auditory landscape. Soft, diffused lighting filters through small, strategically placed openings in the dome, casting a warm glow that shifts in hue depending on the time of day, further enhancing the enchanting atmosphere. Visitors are encouraged to enter quietly and experiment with their voices or instruments, contributing to the evolving soundscape within the chamber.
